Christmas Light Switch On

8th December 2016

Lydgate Christmas Light Turn On

A large group of local residents gathered around the tree, to join in the blessing of the tree by Revd Pat Gillian, and then to watch Isabella and Ethan switching the lights on.

The lights themselves are new this year and were purchased by Love Lydgate with the help of very generous donations from the local community, our thanks for their support, it is very much appreciated.

Mulled wine and mince pies were enjoyed, compliments of the White Hart and Father Christmas drove past on his way to the Parish Hall. The children and parents followed him up to the Hall where the children sang several carols, after which they went into Santa’s grotto to receive presents. The audience were able to indulge in Sausage butties and Mince Pies, Wine and Tea/Coffee. A lovely way to start the Christmas festivities.
